India will be 4 degree hotter by 2050!
The effect of climate change on India will be worser than that previously estimated. Latest projections indicate that by 2050, the temperatures would rise by 3-4 degree over current levels, and rain fall will become both heavier and less regular which will prove a great threat to agriculture.
This provide another, more serious wake-up call for India's planners to look at adapting to the impending climate changes.More important, it demanda the developed countries reduce their emissions substancially before their accumulated emissions turn these projections in to realty for India.
Global modelling results have been suggesting that average annual prespitation in India may see about 8 - 10 % increase.
Consequences are easy to see - cities like Delhi that are not able to handle occasional heavy shower even today. Scene may not be much better for cities like Mumbai.
