Action needed againt Global warming !
The idea is just to save electric power consumption by switching off the unnecessary lights at home for an hour. No doubt this is the easiest and cheapest way to fight global warming.
More than 20 cities around the world initiated " Earth Hour 2008 ". The cities include Adelaide, Atlanta, Bangkok , Brisbane, Canberra, Chicago, Christchurch, Copenhagen, Dublin, Manila, Melbourne, Montreal, Odense, Ottawa, Perth, Phoenix, San Francisco, Suva, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Vancouver. Unfortunately no Indian City is in the list.
Why don't we initiate this idea in India? Delhi is chosen to start with. Objective of every visitor is to popularise this idea among Indians and include Delhi in the list for Earth hour 2009. This effort has to be extended to whole of India.
This is the duty of every Indian to pass this message to others.
Earth hour is a global event to fight global warming by saving energy and rising awareness. The initiation is to get as many people as possible to turn off their lights for an hour and lower the power consumption. Though this is a simple idea, it is forceful in its own way and attracted people all over the world.
Though power-cut is most common in India, " Earth hour " gives us a chance to save energy consciously and contribute against Global warming.
It started with a question: How can we inspire people to take action on climate change?
The answer: Ask the people of Sydney to turn off their lights for one hour.
